Pumpkin Farm

Are you looking to score some parenting points? I got you.

A couple weeks ago, my friend Karin and I loaded up our kiddos to Jerry Smith's Pumpkin Farm in Kenosha.

I hadn't heard of it, but Karin had been there several times. It's a pumpkin display and it's free! (Have I ever told you that I love free? I love free).

They put painted pumpkins in displays as Disney characters. What do you called this new art form? I guess I'll call it gourd art. Yes, gourd art is official now because it's mentioned on the internet.

The kids allowed a 10 second photo posing moment. They're becoming a little particular these days about sitting and smiling.

Which is lame.

There's goats to feed and pet, and there's also a maze,  but we arrived there in the morning and the petting zoo/maze weren't open yet. We settled for measuring ourselves instead. Can you believe I'm still the same height this year?

The pumpkin farm sells hot cider, popcorn, breads and cider donuts in their shop. We bought some goodies and to munch on after we toured the pumpkins.

We spent an hour or two there and it was worth the drive, especially since it was a beautiful day. I scored some good mama points that day. Buying the donuts helped my overall mom score.

Do you have a favorite pumpkin patch or orchard? I'd like to try a new place next year.
