A 2nd grade child at my girls' school was shot while sitting in his own bedroom. The bullet shattered his femur and severed an artery in his leg. He underwent a 6-hour surgery and will be in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future.
He asked, "Mommy, why would somebody shoot me? I'm only 7. What did I do?"
Of course, this little kid didn't do anything. The surveillance video shows a gunman walk up in an alley and open fire into the home. No arrests have been made yet.
Today was his first day back at school since the shooting and I'm sure he'll receive amazing love and support from the student body and the staff there. Here's my ask:
Can you extend the love and support to this child's family?
They'll have extensive future medical expenses and therapy for him down the road. One of the school administrators started a GoFundMe for his family.
